 Bonifatus, Founder

Among the last of his kind in the northern realms and one of perhaps a dozen centaurs remaining in Maer Dane,  Bonifatus sought a future for his children and their children. Clearly making war against the habens - or humankind - was not to be profitable, and the diminishing of his people led to an upsurge in the population of goblins and other undesirable neighbors in the prolific forests of the region. Gathering all the treasure from his lair he travelled to the town of Pelleas, which he had heard was an egalitarian meritocracy. He purchased a shop and an adjoining lot in the middle of town, renovated the property and built the inn and tavern, then opened for business the following season, fall of 1261. The Limping Centaur has remained in his family since that time.
